At No Margin, No Mission, we’re always on the move. As a social enterprise and national consulting practice, we make it a point to spend lots of time meeting and working with nonprofit and foundation leaders all over the country.   • June 21st: As part of THE PATTERSON FOUNDATION’S earned income initiative — MARGIN & MISSION IGNITION 2017 — we’ll be back in Sarasota, Florida to convene the fourth and final educational lab designed to help local nonprofits build entrepreneurial capacity, boost revenue, and heighten mission impact. Titled The Essentials of Earned Income Business Planning, this full-day session is being offered to a select number of organizations that attended our first three educational labs and have an expressed desire for more advanced learning about earned income. For those who continue to demonstrate strong interest, cultural alignment, and internal readiness to take steps toward thrivability, there will be opportunities for one-on-one coaching and technical assistance to develop and implement earned-income business plans.

May 2017

  • May 30-31: Thanks to generous support from THE PATTERSON FOUNDATION, we’ll be in San Francisco, California to help ATTENDANCE WORKS launch the 14-week business planning phase an 18-month journey to develop and implement a BUSINESS PLAN for their earned income venture designed to increase entrepreneurial capacity, boost revenue, and heighten mission impact.   • May 24th: As part of THE PATTERSON FOUNDATION’S exciting earned income initiative — MARGIN & MISSION IGNITION 2017 — we’ll be back in Sarasota, Florida to convene the third in a series of four educational labs focused on earned income and business planning.   • May 12th: Thanks to generous support from THE PATTERSON FOUNDATION, Our Managing Partner, Larry Clark, will be joined by The Literacy Council of Sarasota’s Executive Director, Tom Melville, in Captiva Island, Florida at the 33rd ANNUAL FLORIDA LITERACY COUNCIL CONFERENCE to present a workshop on the topic of MISSION-BASED EARNED INCOME — REVENUES FOR LITERACY ORGANIZATIONS. This is the premier educational and networking event held annually for hundreds of adult and family literacy practitioners, teachers, volunteers, and adult learners to develop new skills and share promising practices.   • March 29th: THE PATTERSON FOUNDATION will launch MARGIN & MISSION IGNITION 2017 in Sarasota, Florida as part of its continued partnership with No Margin, No Mission. Debuting the first in a series of four educational labs focused on earned-income and business planning, the inaugural half-day lab will explore “financial thrivability” through the basics of earned income. For those who demonstrate strong interest, cultural alignment, internal readiness to take steps toward thrivability, and the wherewithal to move through an interview and application process, there will be subsequent opportunities for one-on-one coaching and technical assistance to develop and implement earned-income business plans.   • March 27th: We’ll be back in Sarasota, Florida for a Knowledge-Sharing Session with our “Fantastic 5″ nonprofit client partners (Charlotte Players, Florida Maritime Museum, Historic Spanish Point, Literacy Council of Sarasota, Manatee Performing Arts Center) selected to participate in THE PATTERSON FOUNDATION’S earned income initiative, MARGIN & MISSION IGNITION. During this collaborative full-day session, these organizations will share key learning, insights, and observations from their Earned Income Business Plan Implementation work as part of a comprehensive process designed to help them build their entrepreneurial capacity, boost revenue, and heighten mission impact.
  • March 20th: Our Managing Partner, Michael Oxman, will be joined by THE PATTERSON FOUNDATION’S President/CEO, Debra Jacobs, in Chicago, Illinois at the AMERICAN SOCIETY ON AGING’S 2017 AGING IN AMERICA CONFERENCE to present a workshop on the topic of WHY NONPROFITS SHOULD CARE ABOUT EARNED INCOME. This is the premier educational and networking event held annually for nearly 3,000 professionals to engage with each other on a multitude of issues affecting our nation’s older adult population.   • December 14th: We’ll be in Sarasota, Florida for a series of OUTCOME SHARING SESSIONS to conclude THE PATTERSON FOUNDATION’S MARGIN & MISSION IGNITION 18-month earned income journey with the “Super 6″ nonprofits (Charlotte County Habitat for Humanity, Friends of Sarasota County Parks, Friendship Centers, Legal Aid of Manasota, Lighthouse of Manasota, Pines of Sarasota). After receiving consultation and technical assistance for business plan development, implementation, and a full year of consulting support for tracking and monitoring, these organizations will report out results from their earned income ventures, with particular emphasis on progress against their business plan goals 

November 2016

  • November 3rd: We’ll be in Sarasota, Florida for a series of MARGIN & MISSION IGNITION 2016 FAST PITCH presentations sponsored by THE PATTERSON FOUNDATION. As a way to honor and celebrate the work of the “Fantastic 5″ entrepreneurial nonprofits that were selected to work with us on development of earned income business plans (Charlotte Players, Inc., Florida Maritime Museum, Historic Spanish Point, Literacy Council of Sarasota, Manatee Performing Arts Center), each will have 15 minutes to present their new ideas for MARGIN and MISSION impact. Investors, funders, and donors will be present at the series of events to listen, ask questions, and potentially provide startup capital to launch each organization’s enterprise. This year’s Annual Meeting will convene LFP grantees and funders in Philadelphia, PA for the capstone event marking 25 years of collaborative grantmaking through Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Local Funding Partnerships. As always, the Annual Meeting will highlight the work of current projects and celebrate the work of graduating grantees. In addition, past awardees whose work has been replicated, and in some cases, become national models in their field, will be joining in the Annual Meeting.
